The first congress of this international project took place in November in France, where we learned how to use social media channels and discussed how to effectively promote NGOs both online and offline. The second convention ended last Friday, and we couldn’t be happier with how it went!

During the convention from February 14 -17, 2023, the participants – youth workers – learned the secrets of taking interesting photos with a cell phone, programs for editing videos, and were introduced to a whole list of applications and tools for improving the quality of promotional materials in NGOs. Also discussed were methods of reaching new audiences , secrets of effective promotion and also ways to break stereotypes of thinking and exercises to expand creativity.

But in turn:

On the first day of the project, thanks to energizers and games arranged by the facilitators, we got to know the names of all the people involved in the project, and introduced each other to the activities carried out by each of the three participating organizations. This was also the time to learn about the rules of the Erasmus+ programs and the rules of Ecovillage Torri Superiore, where the project took place.
The second part of the day was marked by social media – participants created posters depicting selected media channels, which they later presented to the group. There were also engaging discussions about which medium is currently the most popular. Together they also sought answers to the question of what this is due to and what factors influence users to switch from one channel to another.

During the intensive course, we also learned the principles of creating short videos in the Instagram application – participants divided into groups created several materials on the place and theme of the project according to the principles presented during the theoretical part.

On the second day, participants were introduced to tools that facilitate teamwork, communication, as well as sharing audiovisual materials and project management, such as Trello, Quip, WeTransfer, Padlet, RemoveBG and Canva.

An important part of the project’s past convention was learning about audio-visual editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Pictocard and Kapwing, which they could later use to edit the promotional videos recorded in the workshop.

All in all, already two of the three “Our actions, our impact” conventions are behind us!

The next one is fast approaching – it will be held already in April! This time, instead of youth employees of the NGOs cooperating with us, we will invite young people to participate in it, whom we will teach everything we have learned through participation in the project.

The project is funded by the European Union.

“Our actions, our impact” project is a small-scale partnership between Youth Human Impact Association from Poland, Make a Circle from Italy and LEARN Institute  from France.
