Before you dig in

Recently, we’ve sent a group of motivated young people to a youth exchange “StartUp Spark”. The project was held from 6th to 14th of March 2024 in Cuevas Bajas, Málaga, Spain organized by Asociación EuroMuévete.

In the project, there were 37 participants from 6 countries: Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Cyprus , Poland, Hungary. Project co-funded by the European Union programme.

The following paragraphs were written by the participants themselves. We think it captivates the essence of such projects in the best manner possible. 😊

About the project

StartUp Spark proved to be an extraordinary endeavor, providing participants with a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the complexities of unemployment and the ramifications of the Covid-19 pandemic on the employment landscape.

The exchange was facilitated in the picturesque Spanish enclave of Cuevas Bajas, where the allure of the surroundings made it challenging not to be captivated.

The project immersed us in a series of profoundly enriching activities. These not only enabled us to scrutinize pertinent issues but also fostered the dissolution of language and social barriers among participants.

Moreover, the program afforded us the opportunity to intimately acquaint ourselves with diverse cultures. Representing a cohort of thirty-seven individuals, countries including Poland, Spain, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and Cyprus converged in this cultural exchange. Throughout the sessions, we honed our skills through informal education methodologies, rendering the classes stimulating and conducive to profound knowledge acquisition.

Furthermore, we cultivated connections within the local community, engaging in activities with indigenous entrepreneurs and psychologists, such as Pablo Creciendo Feliz, which enriched our understanding of the local dynamics.

Reflections of the participants

To get the best idea of what the project was about, and what impact it brought upon participants, we invite you to watch a brief video made by one of the Polish members – Patryk. 😊

Here are some post-project reflections of participants of the Polish team:

I believe the project expanded my skills on many levels, and I also had the chance to meet amazing people whom I will not forget for the rest of my life.

I deepened my interpersonal skills and learned to collaborate.

The classes really gave me a lot; thanks to them, I have a new perspective on the world. The connections I made during the project are very important to me, and I hope to stay in touch with other participants.

I developed my interpersonal skills, especially in English. I believe that with the experience gained from this project, I am now able to work efficiently in groups in English.”

We got to know the local culture and explored beautiful Spain.

I am grateful to the Erasmus Plus project for the opportunity and for opening many doors for me.

The project is co-funded by the European Union as part of the Erasmus+ program.
